The Security Specialist will provide support to, plan, coordinate, and implement the organization’s information security. They will provide support for facilitating and helping agencies to identify their current security infrastructure and define future programs, design and implementation of security related to IT systems.
The position will require the ability to serve as Information System Security Officer (ISSO) as well as hands on experience with IDS System Management (Security). Additionally the Security Specialist will need detailed knowledge of the current security tools available as well as new encryption techniques and tools. The IT Security Specialist will be responsible for keeping abreast of the advances in encryption techniques and tools as well as internet/EC technology and communication protocols. A TS/SCI with a Lifestyle Polygraph is required for consideration for this position.
Qualifications Experience:
- Familiarity with IP, Cisco, Juniper, and other protocols/equipment.
- Understanding of business security practices and procedures
- Hardware/software security implementation
- 6 years experience in Network Administration
- 4 years experience supporting converged IP network architectures and implementing security solutions
- 2 years experience senior level technical and end-user documentation
- 3 years hands on Firewall Installation and Administration (Juniper/Cisco/Checkpoint)
- Experience Scripting and Log file management
- Experience using MS Project and Visio
Education / Certification: - Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) or Cisco Certified Security Professional (CCSP) certification.
- Dependent on other selected equipment additional certifications may be required.
- HPOPENVIEW knowledge is required
